The deli dish market has grown rapidly with an increase in the number of working women and of aged people. Its market is estimated at 8 trillion yen and is expected to grow even more. Nisshin Seifun Group positioned its deli dish business as one of its core businesses and eventually established Initio Foods Inc. in March 2004 to develop the market. The name Initio comes from "Initiative on the Table", which means "guiding consumers' dietary habits". |
